Day 1: Arrival Nairobi – Karen Blixen – fair trade project Kazuri Bead Factory – Osoita Lodge (L D)

We pick you up from Nairobi airport and drive you directly to the check-in at your hotel. The first day leads us through Kenya’s capital. We also drive to the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden. Karen Blixen was known for the film adaptation of her novel “Out of Africa” with Meryl Streep and Robert Redford in the lead roles. We are expected for lunch in the former administration house. Also we visit the house where Karen used to live, which is now a museum. Then we visit Kazuri Bead Factory, a fair trade project, where single mothers are employed and produce wonderful jewellery and ceramics. Afterwards we will proceed to a highlight of this tour. We drive to an elephant orphanage and will get to know everything about their upbringing. With the adoption that is included in the price, we are allowed to be a VIP visitor in the evening, when the baby elephants come from the park and are brought to their houses. Also we get the privilege to visit the elephant release center in Tsavo East National Park. We then drive to Osoita Lodge, where we have dinner and stay for the night.

Day 2: Masai Mara Game Reserve – Mara Sopa Lodge (B L D) -240 km / 7 hours

After breakfast, our journey brings us to the Masai Mara. It is considered as one of the largest and most beautiful protected areas of Kenya and reveals an insight into the originality of Africa. After lunch on-site, we embark on the first game drive through the savannah landscape of the Masai Mara Game Reserve, with a good chance to track down the Big Five (elephant, buffalo, lion, rhino, leopard). Dinner and overnight stay at the Mara Sopa Lodge (ECOtourism Kenya silver certificate).

Day 3: Masai Mara Game Reserve – Mara Sopa Lodge (B L D)

After breakfast, we embark on a full day game drive in the Masai Mara. It is famous for its savannah landscape and its wildlife. The prospects are good to observe all those fascinating animals that can usually only be seen in numerous nature documentaries. We will have a picnic at the Mara River, bordering the Serengeti. The river is part of the Masai Mara-Serengeti ecosystem, which is particularly known for the largest wildlife migration on earth in the world. Every year, the huge animal trains cross the brown, foaming river full of crocodiles. Overnight stay and dinner at the Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha – Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge (B L D) – 200 km / 6 hours

After breakfast we drive to Lake Naivasha. Lake Naivasha is the highest and most beautiful lake in the Rift Valley, where especially the bird-watchers, with over 400 documented bird species will be pleased. At an altitude of 1910 m, the water is crystal clear and surrounded by thick papyrus. The residents of Nairobi use the lake for recreation. On a boat tour on the lake you may have the best views of the surrounding. The Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge is surrounded by a vast terrain, which varies in landscape. Thus we find steppe landscape, but also grass and trees come close like in a local park. You may be able to observe the many animals roaming around the Lodge in search for plants to eat. At night it is fun to look out the window and see the hippopotamus within a few meters from the lodge. Day 5: Amboseli National Park – Amboseli Sentrim Camp (B L D) – 320 km / 6 hours

Today we drive to Amboseli Sentrim Camp, situated at the Amboseli National Park amidst a game rich area, where we will have lunch. Afterwards, we are free to relax at the pool with a magnificent view over the landscape and at the Kilimanjaro. Optionally, we can take a walk to a nearby Maasai village, where you get to know the way of life of this half-nomadic people. As an option, you can go on a short hike with a Masai Warrior through the countryside between camp and village and thereby observe wild animals Overnight stay and dinner at Sentrim Amboseli Camp.

Day 6: Amboseli National Park – Amboseli Sentrim Camp (B L D)

Full day game drives in Amboseli National Park. Amboseli is a relatively small park and probably the best wildlife areas to observe elephants at close quarters. Part of the park is swampland in which animals are most likely to be seen. From the park we are able to enjoy stunning views at Mt. Kilimanjaro, the most beautiful mountain of Africa. There are also numerous zebras, wildebeests, Thomson gazelles, Grant gazelles, buffalos, waterbucks, hippos, lions, cheetahs, jackals and hyenas. A highlight of the park is the Observation Hill, offering a magnificent view over the landscape and at the Kilimanjaro. Here we will have our picnic lunch. After the game drives, we will return to the accommodation in the Amboseli Sentrim Camp.

Day 7: Ziwani Wildlife Sanctuary – Voyager Ziwani Camp (B L D) – 135 km / 4 hours

Tday we proceed to Voyager Ziwani Camp. After lunch in the Camp with stunning view onto the lake we enjoy either a walking safari with a naturalist or a game drive in the sanctuary. After sunset we have the next highlight: a night game drive, where we have the chance to watch the animals which are active in the night. Dinner and overnight stay at Voyager Ziwani Camp.

Day 8: Tsavo East National Park – Ashnil Aruba Lodge (B L D) – 160 km / 4 hours

We start the day with an early game walk around the lake, where we have the chance to watch different animals. After breakfast we proceed to Tsavo East National Park, home of the “Red Elephants”. Once we have passed the gate, we are already on our first game drive. We will reach the Ashnil Aruba Lodge for lunch. We then continue with a further game drive to observe amongst others zebras, buffaloes, and elephant herds. Equally impressive is the diversity of resident bird species which includes hornbills, eagles, kingfishers, weavers, giant bustards, storks and marabou. In the afternoon we will visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where elephant orphants are raised and then adapted to life in the wilderness. We will learn a lot about the behaviour of elephants and may assist in feeding. Then, in the sunset, we will drive back to our lodge.

Day 9: Tsavo East National Park – Severin Sea Lodge (B L D) – 210 km / 4.5 hours

Before breakfast, we will go on a game drive in the park to observe the animals during their morning activities. After breakfast we proceed to the Buchuma Gate with game drive enroute, where we will have lunch. From there we will move on to the coast, where we will arrive in the afternoon at Severin Sea Lodge.

Day 10 – 14: Beach Vacation – Severin Sea Lodge (B D)

The long, white beach attracts thousands of tourists from around the world every year, but nevertheless, there is never the feeling of mass tourism. Here you can relax and dream about your experiences during your safari. The hotel offers many possibilities for water sports and wellness. On an excursion to Mombasa you will visit the old town and Fort Jesus – a UNESCO world heritage site. One day you will discover the ocean and its underwater world on a boat trip at the Mombasa Marine Reserve. Accommodation with half board at Severin Sea Lodge (ECOtourism Kenya silver certificate).

Day 15: Airport transfer

Transfer to the airport of Mombasa, from where you will take your return flight to your country.
